These terms cover ordering a portrait from Meadowlark Portraits, a small studio in Lawrence, Kansas, run by Digital Rescue LLC ("we", "us"). When you place an order, you agree to them, to our refund policy and to our privacy policy. You must be 18 or older to order.
How an order works
- You choose a style, a print, a frame and a size, upload a photo of your pet and pay.
- We make a portrait from your photo in the style you chose. We use image-generation software to make it, and a person on our team checks every portrait before you see it.
- We email you when your preview is ready. On your order page you can approve it or ask for changes, up to 3 times at no cost.
- Nothing prints until you approve the preview. Once you approve it, the order goes to our print lab in the US, and it can no longer be changed or cancelled.
Your photo
Send only photos you took yourself or have permission to use. You let us use your photo only to make, print and deliver your order, and to share it with the companies that help us do that (see the privacy policy). We may decline a photo that is too small or unclear to make a good portrait, or that shows something we won't print. If we decline your order, we refund it in full.
Your portrait
- The portrait is a likeness of your pet made from your photo, in a painted style. It is not painted by hand. It can't add detail your photo doesn't show, and small features may differ from your pet.
- The preview you approve is what we print. Colors on paper or canvas can look slightly different from your screen.
- The portrait is for your personal use: hang it, give it, and share pictures of it. Ask us first if you want to use it on things you sell.
- We never show your photo or portrait in our marketing without your written permission.
Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars and include standard shipping to a US address. The total at checkout is what you pay; if we ever have to charge sales tax, checkout shows it before you pay. Payment is taken in full when you order, through our payment processor. If a price is clearly wrong because of an error, we may cancel the order and refund it in full before anything prints.
Shipping
We ship only to addresses in the United States. Your order page shows when your preview should be ready and when your portrait should arrive. Those dates are estimates. Once your order ships, the order page shows a tracking link. Please check the shipping address at checkout: we print and ship to the address you give us.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
You can cancel before you approve the preview. Because every portrait is made to order, we can't take it back after it prints just because you changed your mind. If it arrives damaged, misprinted or not what you ordered, we reprint it or refund you. The refund policy has the details and time limits.
Your order page
Your order page link is private, and anyone who has it can see your preview and approve your order. Keep it to yourself and the people you trust with your order. It never shows your address or email.
Our responsibility to you
We stand behind our work as described in the refund policy. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the site and our portraits are provided as they are, and our total responsibility for any order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost time or profit. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Disagreements
If something goes wrong, please email us first; most problems are quick to fix. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts for Douglas County, Kansas, unless you choose small claims court where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. The terms in place when you ordered apply to that order.
