Meadowlark Portraits is a small studio in Lawrence, Kansas, run by Digital Rescue LLC. We collect only what we need to make your portrait, ship it and keep you posted. We don't sell your information, we don't run ads or tracking on this site, and there are no accounts.

What we collect

• Your pet's photo, and the style, print, frame and size you choose.
• Your name, email and US shipping address, which you enter at checkout.
• What you paid. Your card details go straight to our payment processor. We never see your full card number.
• What you tell us: the notes you send when you ask for changes, and any emails you send us.
• Basic technical details, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider records in its server logs for security and to fix problems.

We don't use cookies. The site saves one thing in your browser: that you closed the holiday delivery notice, so it stays closed.

How we use it

• To make your portrait from your photo, take payment, print it and ship it to you.
• To email you about your order: that we have it, that your preview is ready, that it's printing and that it has shipped.
• To answer your questions, handle refunds and reprints, prevent fraud, and keep the records the law requires.

We don't send marketing emails. We never use your photo or portrait in our marketing without your written permission.

Who helps us

A few companies handle your information for us, only to do their part of your order:

• Our payment processor takes your payment on its own secure checkout page, under its own privacy policy.
• Our print lab in the US gets the print file, and your name, email and shipping address, to print and ship your portrait.
• Our cloud provider hosts this site and stores your photo and order details in the United States.
• Our AI image provider gets your pet's photo, and nothing else about you, to help make the portrait. Under its terms for business customers, it doesn't use what we send it to train its models, and it may keep it for up to 30 days to watch for abuse, unless the law requires longer.
• Our email provider carries the emails about your order. Our team's copy of each new order includes your photo.
• A web font service serves the site's typefaces, so your browser connects to it when a page loads.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or with a new owner if the business is ever sold, who would have to keep this policy.

How long we keep it

• If you leave checkout without paying, your photo is deleted within 3 days.
• Your photo and the full-size print file are deleted 90 days after your order ships or is cancelled. The small preview stays with your order, so your order page keeps working.
• Your order record (what you bought, what you paid, your name, email and address) is kept for our tax and accounting records.
• Our team's order emails, which include your photo, are kept until we clear them. Ask us and we'll delete them sooner.
• Our payment processor and print lab keep their own records under their own policies.

Your choices

Email us to get a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We'll reply within 30 days. We can't delete what we must keep for tax records, or a photo we still need for an order that hasn't shipped yet. Some states give you these rights by law; we give them to everyone.

Keeping it safe

Your photo is stored privately and is never on a public web address. Only our team can open it there. Your order page is reached by a long random link that is the only key to it, and it never shows your address or email. Keep the link private. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect your information.

Children

This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we'll email the customers it affects.
